About Us Who We Help Assistance Links

The Fund to Prevent Homelessness helps people that are right in our community: they are our neighbors, the people we pass in the supermarket, and the friends our kids play with at school.

These are people who for some unforeseen circumstance are struggling to make ends meet and are facing further problems down the road if they don’t get help.  Unfortunately, most programs don’t assist families until they have hit rock bottom.  Our organization works proactively to stop the downward cycle before they lose everything.  This allows families to get back on their feet quickly and back to the productive lives they were previously living.

Some of the problems our families face include:

  1. Layoffs
  2. Injuries and illness that keep them out of work
  3. Illness to their children
  4. Tragic events

When problems like these occur, the debt can mount and bills can go unpaid and suddenly they are faced with a foreclosure or eviction.

These are families that have the ability to pull through and with our assistance can get over the hump of medical bills or debt.

Just listen to what some our beneficiaries have had to say…

“My family and I would like to thank you for your help in our time of need.  Living with this illness and keeping alive hope for my family, has just been made all the more possible.”

“I’m a self employed literary publicist and lost work [due to national tragedy.] I was having difficulty making up for lost time. [The Fund] has helped me get back on my feet.  For my daughter and me it’s made a vast difference in our lives.”

“I was having difficulty making up for lost time.  You’ve restored my ability to make ends meet and have lifted my spirits. Thank you.”
